STRATEGIC PLAN

WHY RESET

{

We believe keeping well people well is everyone’s business and it is this societal impact we strive to achieve.

{

WE ARE DIFFERENT

ONE

We fill a collaboration gap, ACROSS the Emergency Responder, military and medical professions. We drive cross-sector working, facilitate innovation and continuous improvement.

TWO

Our dual focus is improving organisational culture AND individual wellness at the same time. We use a whole-system approach to ensure impact is sustained and felt consistently from both perspectives.

THREE

By design, we are evidence-informed. We apply a mixed research approach because we believe complex organisations require a complex research response.

FOUR

We are passionate about seeing beyond to tomorrow’s needs, building research data and insight that transcends the sectors to help inform prevention strategies across career stages.

FIVE

We believe in the restorative power of nature. Our base is set within 87 acres of the Malvern Hills’ Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

A shift is coming. We can work this shift together.

STRATEGIC PRIORITY:
ORGANISATIONAL CULTURE CHANGE

Foster collaboration and shared learning across Emergency Responder, Military, and Medical professionals to promote efficiency and harness sustainable workplace improvements that value, prioritise and protect mental and physical wellness within the organisations.

WE WILL DO THIS THROUGH
  • ‘Working with’ HR, OD and Wellbeing Leads to drive targeted change
  • Bespoke retreats and programmes with expert coaching
  • Safe-space networking with inspirational guest speakers
  • One-to-one coaching
  • Group coaching/Action Learning Sets
  • Fireside chats
  • Walks and talks
  • A cross-sector Community of Practice
  • Research to enable evidence-informed sector change in prevention strategies

STRATEGIC PRIORITY:
KEEPING WELL PEOPLE WELL

Deliver sustainable impact through prevention programmes, education, and activities to keep well people well within organisations.

WE WILL DO THIS THROUGH
  • Stop, Pause, Reset and Recharge retreats for the Emergency Responder, Military and Medical sectors
  • A Protect the Protectors Partner Programme
  • A Protect the Protectors Family Programme
  • Testing and learning what keeps well people well and what reduces stress
  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact and sustainability of Reset’s prevention interventions, continuously improving our outcomes
  • Nature-based restorative time on-site to organisations, individuals, families, partners and friends.

STRATEGIC PRIORITY:
RESEARCH

Drive a research and evidence-informed approach to mental and physical resilience prevention strategies of the future that considers the risks of burnout that transcend the Emergency Responder, Military, and Medical sectors.

WE WILL DO THIS THROUGH
  • Researching, testing and prototyping Reset coaching and wellness models to understand core components of a ‘Reset moment’
  • A firm foundation of academic research using the principles of co-creation and participatory research to inform our work (such as a panel, qualitative and quantitative work, empathy interviews)
  • Horizon scanning to ensure we consider societal challenges that are emergent
  • Adopting a mixed research approach to understand the complex organisations with which we are working, and their cultures
  • Test and learn the needs of different career stages and different generations in the sectors in which we work: trainees, in career, approaching retirement and retirement itself to help inform targeted prevention strategies, not a one size fits all approach.

STRATEGIC PRIORITY:
HARNESS THE RESTORATIVE POWER OF NATURE

Build the restorative power of nature into Reset’s work, making the case for it in individual and organisational physical and mental resilience strategies.

WE WILL DO THIS THROUGH
  • Harnessing the benefits of nature-based time for beneficiaries via programmes, activities, and the use of open-air connection points
  • Developing a community site with accommodation
  • Increasing the knowledge and understanding of the restorative power of nature in mental resilience work

STRATEGIC PRIORITY:
RAISE AWARENESS TO GENERATE SOCIETAL CHANGE

Raise awareness of the importance of valuing, prioritising, and protecting the mental and physical resilience of our Emergency Responder, Military and Medical staff to build a compassionately resilient society.

WE WILL DO THIS THROUGH
  • Evidence-informed influencing of national policy, sector leaders and organisational senior leaders
  • Community action
  • Embedding the importance of creativity and perspective in our work, working with artists
  • Strategic partnerships and collaborations which allow Reset to achieve more together in line with our vision and mission
